I love these competitions that rely on stats, instead of special genes. Last time, all of my friends were asking to borrow my ONE Dragon with Fearsome Look and my ONE Gryphon with Gracefulness (I won't breed them until thy reach Lv. 50). Now, most of my dragons and unicorns can have a chance to get extra training.

I personally prefer ones relying on specific genes - it's more interesting and, as you pointed out, not everyone has the pets with needed genes, so it feels more like a competition to mee.
Stats are just a matter of long training and lvling your pet (which depends mainly on how much time you spend on the game) while getting dominant genes is an effect of careful breeding (which takes some planning but you don't have to sit and grind).
Yeah, I definitely like quests relying on genes and abilities more ;)
