I've done some digging and I think this item wasn't given a use (yet?)

Please check your Magic Catchers at the Map tab. Each Magic Bomb in your Inventory is a Magic Catcher, you don't need to use it, they are ready for hunt by default. It's added as inventory item in order if someone will want to trade it.
