I can provide a screenshot if you'd like, but seeing as this was a glitch in my favor I don't think  need to. On this expedition, I'd placed a magic catcher, a bird catcher, and a mammal catcher. Only one of each.

"There's no one at Island.
There's no one at Heart of the Forest.
Your catcher saw how a Gryphon flew from the Old Ruins to Waterfall.
Your catcher saw how a Gryphon flew from the Western Fields to Waterfall.
Your Magic catcher caught a Gryphon at the Waterfall. See the pet.
Your Magic catcher caught a Gryphon at the Waterfall. See the pet."

And, I now have two more grypons! (#72002 and #72003). While it did take two liscenses, I don't think a single catcher is normally able to catch two pets.
Is this a glitch? Do I have to relinquish one of the gryphons? Can I see their stats first?

Your Reptile catcher caught a Dragon at the Waterfall. See the pet.

That's the same with my pets- I suspect that they're male and female copies of the same pet, but can't confirm for a day or two more.

Thanks for reporting.

It's not a bug, and the pets aren't copies. The catchers have ~10% chance to catch 2 pets at the same time if they are at the same location and have the same class.
