By posting anything on BeastKeeper, you agree to follow the rules and guidelines below:

  1. Treat other members respectfully. No trolling or harrasment of other members.
  2. Don't use bad language anywhere in the game. Also please avoid chatspeak. We don't have any character limit for posts, so making your post easily readable will benefit both you and other players.
  3. No spamming and flooding. Don't create pointless posts/threads. If you have nothing to say, it's better to say nothing. Bumping topics considered as spam / flood too, unless the last post made on the thread was 24 hours old AND the thread is not on the first page.
  4. Please use correct boards and threads for your posts. For example, if you would like to advertise your pet shop or show your new double deviant baby, please use Pet Sales and Pet Showcase boards accordingly.
  5. Don't add new posts after your own post unless bumping (24 hours after the last post in your thread). Please edit your post if you want to add something to it.
  6. No extensive smiley or character repetition, caps lock, misuse of big and colored fonts. Please avoid any formatting that makes eyes hurt.
  7. Respect copyrights. No art theft.
  8. No pornography, violence, adult content etc. Let's keep this place friendly.
  9. The actions and decisions of administration are not for dispute. Please voice your concerns in a polite manner. Game-wide analysis of the issue that concerns you and suggested ways to solve it without ruining the balance and game concept is a great way to be heard and considered.
  10. Before posting a suggestion or a bug, please check if someone reported / suggested it before you. We would like to avoid spamming the forums with doubles. Bugs and issues that are not resolved are staying up in the Bugs thread until there's a fix, decision or rebuttal for them.
  11. Please write your posts in English so everyone can understand you. The only exclusion is International board.
  12. Don't beg for free pets, items or coins.

When a player breaks a rule for the first time, they receive a warning. 3 warnings will put you to Silence mode. Users who are breaking rules  despite of warnings may be banned. Breaking rules 1 and 7, 8, 9 may result in an instant ban without warnings.

Some examples from Fya:

This is not allowed (Examples):

Beware, the example of the 5th rule is eye-killing.

1. WRONG: Hey stupid girl don't post on my thread if you just want to say that ok now shut up

RIGHT: Excuse me, but that's a little rude, so please don't post again to say such things or I'll report you.

2. WRONG: hey id lik some pets plz im new and fun lol haha gime pet plz

RIGHT: Hey there, I'm pretty new to the site and I don't have many pets, so if you have one you don't want anymore, I don't mind being your trashcan!

3. WRONG: =)

RIGHT: There's no real right example there, just don't post useless stuff.

6.WRONG: SO YES I WENT TO CALIFORNIA AND IT WAS GREAT :D 8D XDDDD LOLL

RIGHT: Yes! I went to California and it was great! :)

7.WRONG: Lol yes twilight sparkle is my original character. She's beautiful isnt she? Her best friend is fluttershy, one of my ocs too ;)

RIGHT: No right examples there. Claiming stuff that isn't yours "yours" is not allowed and there's no right way to do it.

8. No real example for this rule sorry.

9. WRONG: That update is silly don't make it you guys admins are all fools and deserve to die for making this now i wont have that much money while explorin.

RIGHT: Oh, I don't really like that update :/ That's sad we won't earn as much money as we used to!

When you say 'no bad language', do you mean we aren't allowed to cuss at all? The rule is a little vague.

I'm also confused by the no bad language rule, many places have many different standards. Some places you can't say 'bs' and some you can. Can I have clarification on what constitutes bad language please?

Quaint, just remember that other players will be reading your posts, including children, ladies and elders. Everything that is appropriate in such company is ok here too. We don't have boards that are limited by age, and have no age limits in our TOS.

Nightingale's addtion for users seeking more clarification: Since Beastkeeper does not have a minimum age requirement so we must assume younger ears/eyes are reading our posts. I realize this is a grey area as different people, groups, families, and cultures consider different words to be harsh or acceptable language. Basically do not say any words you would not say in front of a young child (like school children, a youger sibling, or cousin).  Besides, it keeps our forums nice and clean.

Could you add a bit after "double posting"? Something along the lines of..

(ie, don't post right after your own post on the same thread. Please use the edit function if you need to add more)

Some people have different definitions of "double posting" and it wouldn't hurt to have clarification on that. :)

(My signature is not my art i'm not even able to draw that stuff.)

And the cussing rule is actually a great rule because younger players go on here. (Like me) and so it shouldnt be allowed. I think all these rules are necessary by the way Angel, plus big letters random caps and randomly colored  words highly annoy me. Thank for that rule.

Keep up the good work Angel ~Hermioneanddawn

You've got me caught in a place

Panic for a minute,

Got my mind in a daze,

I wish you weren't in it,

There are so many ways,

To lose your attention,

You can break everything,

But so what,

I can take anything

Could we have a rule about bumping extremly old topics? Especially ones in the sales/contests/wanted add boards.

The topics are no longer relavent and some users may be getting spammed (ie in giveaways) as a result. That being said people can always PM me if they want their thread shut down! I advise you all to edit your post we well to avoid spam.

Thanks

Bumping is posting on a thread with the intent of moving it to the most recent, and therefore most visible area at the top of the threads. We discourage bumping posts that are still on the front page (wait until they fall to the second page), and posts that are quite old and/or no longer relavent.

Chatspeak is using shorthand for words... Example: "Hey r u gng 2 sell me that puma?" or something similar.... We are all literate folks here and would like the exchanges on focums to be mature and easy to understand.

Of course if there are language barriers we understand! Posting something in your signature is a good way to let us know (Perhaps even find language exchange penpals!). We forgive errors such as those of course! But blantant use of excessive shorthand is not necessary and detracts from the seriousness of a post.

Sorry for the late response. Hopefully this can help others if you have already found out on your own. :)

I would also like to add, as more of an informality than a rule, but people should check to see how active the owner of the thread and the thread itself has been. Specifically in the Contest and Giveaways, and sales forums. Often, I see people posting that they are seeking something someone is selling or giving away when the user has not been online in months, or the post has clearly been dead.

I have been locking these threads in order to keep active ones at the top. If your thread has been unlocked I am more than happy to unlock it if PM'd. I leave a little message there should people want to resume their thread.

Hopefully this is okay.

Silent Mode allows Moderators and Admins to stop people who are breaking the rules from posting in the forums. This is less drastic than banning a user. By not following the forum rules or the ToS your right to use certain game feathers (or the game itself) is revoked. So by breaking forum rules you could recieve a warning (after three I believe you are automatically put in silent mode), or if the situation is drastic, silent mode can be manually enabled by the BK staff. Silence mode can be temporary or permanant, the duration is set on a case by case basis.

This helps keeps the forums calm and removes the disturbance.

@Rocky- your posts look fine :) Don't worry.
