Wild Pets visit them one by one. Every Wild pet has its Den. From the Den it will move to the Watering Point and then to the Hunting Area.

Err. Okay. So, I have the Cartographer's Guild, and it tells me where the pet currently is, yeah? Well in the last round, I saw a unicorn at Big Tree, and a gryphon up on the mountain (Old Ruins, I believe?). So, naturally, I place two mammal catchers- one at the Creek, and one at the Waterfall.

Next turn, BAM, the pets were at hunting areas.

This happens way too often, and I'm starting to see the embassy as a waste of money, considering the pets don't go where they're "supposed" to.

I have actually noticed this a lot more lately as well-- very frequently the wild pets go from their den to a hunting area and then to the water. I have a Cartographer's Guild as well, so it's a pattern I've consistently picked up on, and I've also been wondering whether this is a bug or something that's not clear in the FAQ. Thanks.

Edit: A couple of my recent examples, in case it's helpful.

Your catcher saw how a Unicorn came from the Heart of the Forest to Eastern Fields.

Your catcher saw how a Cockatrice came from the Western Fields to Waterfall.

Your catcher saw how a Cockatrice came from the Big Field to Creek.

Your catcher saw how a Unicorn came from the Big Field to Waterfall.

Thanks for reporting. It's not a bug at all, just inaccurate wording. There's an extra "then" which changes the sense of phrase, I just removed it.. Pets can go either to a watering point or to a hunting area after sleeping in the den - it's individual for each pet as you have already noticed. Sorry for the confusion.

Okay, that's much clearer now -- it'll help me avoid putting catchers in the wrong places. Thanks again!
