So, this suggestion might be a little bit harder to code but I think it'd be a useful addition and here's why.
Due to recent changes in exploring, you can only explore a limited amount. It used to be that exploring with a level 50 pet was great because even though you didn't get experience with a level 50 pet, you still got tons of free items. Now that you only have 24 islands per day (if you don't let any lapse at all that is) exploring with a level 50 pets is simply taking food out of the mouths of the hungry, so to speak. The pets that you could be leveling instead get nothing. While the materials are nice, it's still probably better to explore with pets you're trying to level, right?
So that's where the mentor program would come in. The way it'd work is, a level 50 pet would be able to select another pet that wasn't level 50 to mentor. Then, whenever you took the level 50 pet out exploring, any exp you would be getting as the level 50 would be transfered as a percentage to the mentored pet. I'm not sure exactly on the exp ratios but I'm thinking something like 50% of exp. So if the level 50 would have gotten say, 30exp, instead it'd transfer 15 exp to the other pet.
Obviously this would be a great way to get really LOW level pets up to a decent level quickly (like levels 1-20 would be ideal) but then once they got to a sufficient level it'd actually be better to take them out exploring on their own since they could get just as much if not more exp battling themselves.
I feel like this would bridge the gap of uselessness which level 50 pets are currently facing versus exploring other pets that actually need to be explored for exp while still letting you reap the benefits of exploring a level 50 pet (more food and items obviously).
As always, feel free to like/dislike/support/etc and give me your comment on how this idea can be improved.
