So, just recently I finished leveling up a pet to 50. My first 50! YAY!

Only, I was noticing now that... well, exploring has kind of lost its point. I don't get exp for fighting mobs anymore, so when I explore with him I just pick up all the items and kill all the red mobs and get all the treasure chests, and it doesn't even matter if I kill anything. It's kind of left explore feeling a little bit... empty?

So I was thinking, instead of just, bam, level 50, no point in exploring anymore -- and also no one in the level 50 bracket puts their pets up for battle so it's impossible to battle a level 50 pet to the highscores board...

So basically level 50 pets are just item gatherers.

So I was thinking to change that, since eventually a lot of pets will hit level 50 and there will just be all these pets without a purpose... what if we gave them a purpose?

So, my idea is that level 50 pets can still gain exp -- up to 500 which is their cap, and then when they hit 500 exp it resets to zero and gives you something.

Not quite sure what this something should be though. A token or something... and then we could either have a token shop where we can spend tokens to buy cool items (premium items maybe?). Or maybe we can just cash them in for gold! Of course, it'd be like, 10 tokens to 1 gold (so it wouldn't be like, an extremely profitable way of making gold; honestly you would make tons more gold just placing on the highscores board with low level pets...) but at the very least it would give a good reason to keep fighting mobs with level 50s instead of just making them glorified item-collectors/baby-makers.

Anyways, to sum it up, have every level gained at 50 (pets would not level past 50, they would just re-level over and over to level 50) give a token or something which can then be exchanged for items or gold.

As always, feel free to like/dislike/comment and thank you for reading!

Hey, irrimn :) Nice idea about the token, but I disagree about the whole point. I think it was made pointless intentionally. For the first I think it is natural for this game to not stick to one/few pets, but rather go forward and pick next pet. Especially if that pet is a breed of your level 50 pet and carries genetic power. I was not used to that idea at first, but then I realized that I can control the whole bloodline of heroes :) I was excited, feeling like I am creating part of the history. For the second, exploring with level 50 pet gives you largest island possible. It means, extra resources, especially silver, plus higher chance to discover quest items.

Tallman: I think you're missing the higher purpose of a game like this. Games like this have to have some sort of end-game or metagame as it is known. Without it, people will eventually, sometimes quickly, get bored with the game. All games require an end-game that expect people to play for extended periods of times (years) which most games like this expect some of their playerbase to play the game over a period of years.

Yes, you can breed and control the genes of your pets, and level 50 creatures can pass down genetic power to their offspring, but that is not an unlimited source of entertainment. Eventually, and sooner than you might think, people will have obtained perfect pets with genetic power 3 and they'll be unbeatable, at least against any current PvE content.

So then, all of the pets on the site will just be glorified item gatherers, and unless you're really into battling (which by then will be a whole different game) there wont be anything to keep you playing.

Support, but maybe only further into the game, or after release to the public.

I call Vermillion "Vermi"

I occasionally use an IPad- please excuse spellcheck.

I actually kind of like it how it is. When I got Veysha to 50, I was relieved to feel like I didn't have to fight everything I see anymore. It makes it so it goes quicker and I can get onto training another pet more easily.

Support! I, myself, have never gotten a pet to 50, but my friend is constantly complaining about their level 50 pet being useless.

Hey everyone!

No support.  I think this suggestion would make the game less fun, not more fun over time.

Fighting monsters on islands isn't fun, its grind.  I'm looking forward to having to do it less and less.  Breeding is what I think is fun, and I would rather the game devs focus on keeping breeding fun instead of coming up with alternate uses for pets that I'm done breeding that will make me feel like I have to keep using them just to stay competitive.

In short, I want to be able to retire pets and move onto the next ones.

I think someone suggested a system where the Exp reset, but the level was still capped... I can't for the life of me remember where....

I think it would be neat if the level 50 pets could mentor other pets, but we have a riding hall for that... They just kinda become stud machines at level 50...

I don't know what.. I think soomething should happen to give them more use outside of breeding, because I did put lots of work into it, and they may have a nice skin... but not where they can be in "god-mode" over a map. I'd still like to use them to get resources, but I can get more bang for my time by using a lower level pet instead (at the same time increasing their stats).

It's quite a logical question about the content for high-level pets. We think that it's better to make it a new game layer.

We're actively working on the concept for different interactions between the groups of pets. To make a successful group, a player will need several high-level pets with different builds, and there will be a lot of different combinations. The other feature which we're planning for high-levels is the tournament. It's a lot of work and these features won't be added in the nearest time, but at least one of them will appear before the players will ask the question like "All of my pets are level 50 with Genetic Power Grade 3, what should I do with this bunch of useless heroes?"

A tournament? I can already foresee the problem becoming one of 'Who can afford to buy the most stat-ups for their high level pets?' for something like that, especially if there's a reward. Just don't forget that those exist if you want to make real competitions between players. You'll have to find a way to make it fair for everyone and not just people with enough disposable income to bulk their pets up with lots of powerups.

I'm not sure why level 50s are considered 'useless'. My one level 50 pet finds an insane amount of resources and gold when I take her exploring. I find her very, very useful.

My Avarice isn't quite level fifty yet, but will be soon.  I find he's incredibly useful for gathering resources because he finds so much, especially silver.  It allows me to pay for the training of my lower levelled 'trices.  Once he's level 50 I'll also be breeding him, and mostly I intend to use him for crafting when he's not exploring.

Awesome that you guys are already thinking about the end-game; even if it wont happen for a while. That's good news to me! Especially since I AM working on making my own lines of perfect pets, and eventually I'm sure I will get them to GPL 3 and they'll just be super-powered invincible battle machines!

@Kayla-La - Seems like you're worried about people super-powering their pets through premium items. Do remember, however, that a pet can only get 50 stat points that way. Since 1 item gives anywhere from 1-3 stats, we'll call it average at 2, that's 25 items. Honestly in all my adventures so far, I think I've found/sold near probably 20 items. And I could easily afford through participation in the highscores board to get 50 items currently. That's just earned in game, obviously, since no donations yet.

Suffice it to say, non-paying players have plenty of legitimate opportunities to earn premium stuff in-game and stay competitive.

Tournament could be a cool idea....

Or a weekly site event that uses the G3 pets.....
