Or perhaps we can make the foods seasonal? I've been getting a lot of rabbits and honey on my maps, and I like feeding my pets a more balanced diet. Perhaps we can set prices for the other food types, ie meats would be more pricey than say soybeans, or sunflower seeds. I figure this might help with some of the excess gold floating around and it would help those who don't like to explore as much.

Food doesn't matter at all because 1 food automatically equals 1 coin if you don't have enough food to feed a pet. Ergo you don't even need to buy food, ever.

Unless it is the 200 of each food you need to build the reserve, in which case I don't support it being sold in the store because that would just make it that much easier to build the reserve. Saving up 200 of each food shouldn't be hard but it shouldn't be buyable.

In fact, I say they ought to REMOVE the food the sell in the store so that you can ONLY find food. This will actually make food worth more so people might be able to sell it in the AH.

You see, I hadn't realized the reserve took food to build. I still think food should be able to be bought because it helps plan things out.

Say I have a day of good quests and bad explore, on that day I could buy food with what I gained form quests if i weren't saving up for anything. I find that would be incredibility useful since getting all quests done isn't an automatic thing. It's gives a more manage your money effect I feel, which is what you'd be having to do either way, but it doesn't feel like such a crunch if you have a day of bad exploring.

As already said - Food is bought for you automatically. Pretend it's servents or robots or that you phoned the list into the store for automatic delivery. Whatever - you get exactly the amounts you need, no extra, daily.
And it's already based on whatever you have a pet's diet listed as, for 1 silver coin each piece. It doesn't matter what your diet is, it all costs the same.
So selling it in the state store is pretty pointless (unless for the reserve, as mentioned).

Besides, it doesn't matter what you feed daily - your pets don't gain any stat points until they level. So if you just get all honey and rabbit, change the diet to just honey and rabbit and whatever else. The pets won't care and it doesn't affect anything.

When you decide to explore with the pet or battle it or level it in the ridinghall, then change the diet to what you want stat gains in.

And yes that involves a lot more micromanaging, but if you want to conserve a food type or your coins, that's one easy way to do it.

Otherwise, try posting in the forums if you're really wanting to buy food. :)

If you play Aywas and would accept BP in return for pets/silver/items, message me! :D

I know how it goes with leveling and all. Personally, I feel it's still a good option. I have a pet at level 50 and I've changed her diet to what I have the most of as compared to the animal fast and more uncommon food she was eating for leveling.

You can't exactly just feed a pet honey and rabbit. There's 18 points of food a pet needs, and only two of which are sold. The rest either has to be explored for, or eaten away in silver. While currently, I don't mind if I run out of food, I'd still rather have the ability to stock up in case I end up building and upgrading. I'd rather have a stockpile of food, and then work on saving silver and all. I find it makes saving easier in case I go on a building spree and run out of silver.

If it's not going to affect game balance, then why not sell the rest of the food at the store? I'm sure those who make a profit off of selling pets won't mind having the food in the store because then it gives them a chance to stock up on food and enable an easier time for if they run out of silver.
