Your highest-leved pets are good enough for breeding to acquire
probable offspring with a high grade.
A breeding pair of the Pumas or the Lykos at Level 50 usually
means the offspring will be Grade 1 pets, but only if you're
trying to start your own lines instead of introducing pets of a
certain number of green stars (Better Grading), red stars (Worse
Grading), or both.
It takes a number of generations of Level 50 pet breedings before
the descendents may turn into Grade 2 or Grade 3 pets.
The best grade bets have green star grading, while pets with
Degeneration have red star grading (because the parents are too
closely related somehow).
If you want to have offspring with less red stars in their grade,
be sure the red-starred parent is bred with a very unrelated
mate.
If you upgrade to a premium account (or obtain a premium scroll
that lasts 30 days), when you breed your Puma pairs, Lykos pairs,
and such you will get a warning that you're breeding beasts that
are too closely-related.
Only have a few beasts with a Degeneration grade, because you
never know when a quest will require "A beast with a certain
Degeneration grade to explore the effects of inbreeding".
There's more on that in the player guides on breeding pets and
how to achieve offspring of a higher grade.
