hi! so i just started playing yesterday, and while exploring the forums i kept seeing the word deviants in reference to pets you could get. what does this mean and why do they seem important? i know it must have something to do with breeding, but thats all i've figured out! 

They are a special breeding of some species.

Unicorns, pumas, dragons, rocs.

Your parent pets must be homozycous for either colour or pattern, and both parents must have the same genes.

So you'd need a father with chestnut/chestnut

Mother with chestnut/chestnut.

Then you have a 10% chance to get a deviant. If you look under List of Skins on the Help menu, you'll see the different deviant colours and patterns. Double deviants are made by crossing patttern and colour deviants.

it means something like a detour, a path other than the one usually or habitually taken.

this is because breeding normally results in something else than the so-called deviant.
