"Hello! " Ember replied her paws hurt a bit from the long walk. The tunnels where long and twisted in all directions. Ember had lived in the caverns her entire life but still didn't know where most of the tunnels went.

"Mom!" Nitro yipped happily. Upon seeing her mother and hearing her mother's voice, Nitro perked up. She was tired as well, but her mother cheered her up instantly. Nitro knew a bit more about the Tunnels due to the fact she often snuck out to explore them, of course, she didn't tell anyone that, though she had a sneaking suspicion that Burnt as well as her mother knew.

"How did you days go?" Bright asked .
"It was good!" Ember replied . "Nitro and I played nine and seek! But Burnt found us playing games and yelled at us for being immature. " she ffrowned at the ground. "But. Flame came to help so it was ok."
" well tomorrow you will be an apprentice and a few days after that you will have two tails an d be an official member of the group. " Bright told Ember. "What about you Nitro?"

Nitro's ears lowered.
"M-mom, I'm scared, I mean, one, I'm the runt of the pack, and two, Ember and I haven't even gotten our 2nd tail STUBS we should at least have stubs by now, that will be full grown tails soon." Nitro whispered quietly

Ember woke up to a bright daylight well bright for the tunnels at least the only light that for in here where from holes in the roof. But the light ment that it was morning and morning ment... Her apprentice ceremony!

While Ember stood outside of the den, practically buzzing with excitement, Nitro slowly stood up and sat, trying to process what was going on.
Bright, her mother, got up from where she was sitting and stuck her nose under Nitro's belly and nudged her up.
"Sweetie, it's a very important day, and you have 10 minutes before the Ceremony, and it's a 8 minute walk! Go, go!"
Nitro got up and ran towards Ember

Ember ran towards the main cavern it was large with a ledge jutting out for the leader to speak from..
When they got there everyone was waiting for them.
"Ember, Nitro." Burn's voice echoed through the cavern "You have come of age when all pups become apprentices... Steps forwards. Ember you will be taught by Blue, and Nitro by Flicker." Burnt paused for a moment then said. " Blue, Flicker, teach your apprentices well so that they can gain a place in our skulk for ever. "
