Back after a hiatus and pleasantly surprised by the state of some of my breeding projects! (Well, kind of wondering what I was thinking with the wild throdama project, but other than that.)
Kind of baffled that this gryphon came out deviant somehow—did her father's color genes change sometime in the last day? have I been away so long that I misremembered how deviant breeding even works?—but not complaining.

Both parents had recessive black, so the baby got double black genes and boom, deviant.
I kind of want it but am too poor right now. Passerines are so rare, perhaps I can arrange a breeding with a black dev male of mine?

I thought the parents had to be homozygous—looking at the FAQ I think I got mixed up with the double dev requirements? (That or I mixed up guide advice about how to get the best chance of devs with the bare minimum.)
The silly thing is I was trying for perfect gryphons to put pretty skins on, but it seems like a waste to put a skin on a deviant!

Acid Gland/Petrifying Gaze/Quickmind/Agile Paws/Steel Bones/Spitting Muscle/Regeneration/either Stench or Venemous Skin. Colors and patterns not actually homozygous, but since cockatrices don't have deviants that's not as important.
(In theory I'd like to make some with Acute Eyesight for exploring, but I haven't gotten underway with that yet.)
(And I've got a poison teeth/steel muscles variant on the backburner, but I don't know if anyone but me would care about cockatrices that don't spit acid? That one's a bit of an experiment, I'd like to see if they're any good.)
