Hi, I'm a bit confused about exactly how the three generations are counted. For example, cousins three times removed, would they be able to breed without degeneration? And is it three generations between (check up to great-grandparents) or three generations, including the pet (only grandparents)? Nevermind, I saw an answer to this, but what about the generation-separated cousins?

Thanks.

All hail the hive.

The easiest way I could explain: you have to check three levels for each side of the family tree. At each level, you check if none of the name is cited twice.

The male and femelle breeding together are level 1. You go one level up for their parents, that's level 2, two couples to check. Then again, level 3 is looking at the parents of the two couples. So at the end, you have to check out 14 possibilities. If you only have unique individuals, you won't have degen.

I hope it is helping!
