Newby here. How do I research genes. I'm OLD and need a step by step explanation please.

You click on the pet whose genes you wish to research. Below the picture of the pet will be five tabs - click the tab that says "Genetics". You can then either click "Research one" or "research all" and those do exactly what they say: the first will research a random gene and the second will research all genes.
If the buttons are greyed out, that means you either don't have enough silver or vermillion to research genes. It costs 100 silver and 1 vermillion per gene (so 2000 and 20 vermillion for an entire set of genes).
