When my pet is exploring, I usually leave it to auto battles, except it's not working right now. I tried switching it to manual and then back to auto, but it didn't work. 

Could you please try hard refresh (Ctrl + F5) and check which battle mode is currently active by checking the battle icon? Then if it's auto, try attacking a monster and check what happens; or if it's manual, switch to auto and try the same.

It's easy to get confused when a few explore tabs are open. Battle mode is global, but the icon doesn't update automatically in the opened tabs after you switch it in one of them.

Please also make sure your browser allows cookies.

I have not encoun this problem yet, but I do have a suggestion that might work out unless you've tried it...

I suggest waiting some time, a day maybe? And just do manual battles until then, if that does not work, I'm sorry. 

I am new, so it might not be the best op to try to fix this issue...
