I found some vermillion while I have been exploring. But I wondered if there are other ways to get more of it. Because I like to research the genes of my pets, so when I go breeding I might get an idea what the genes of the baby will be. 

I saw that you can trade one thing for another (if anyone wants to trade) so I thought maybe I can try to trade something for vermillion. But I just started playing so I don't know what is wanted and I don't have much to trade yet. 

So I help somebody can give me answers.

Vermillion is worth quite a lot because everyonne uses it and usually we all need more than we can find while exploring...

You can buy it, but it's quite expensive, or you can hold one of the three special sites on each battlefield map - they give ten vermillion every 10 hours.

Or you can save it up and build a golem, which will double the amount of vermillion that you use to make it, eg you need 60 to make it and it gives you 120 over ten days.
