Given the huge amounts of resources required it seems to me Golems are the best way to produce them, but where do I get the schemes from?

Usually on Explore, where there are treasure chests and temple guardians, but they are sometimes found in the item trades.

To be more specific, you have to defeat guardian beasts in either: 1, the case of a temple guardian, where you are simply given items, or 2; where you move a bit more to get a treasure chest and then you are also given items.
Most of the things you are given are random, however. It's not guarenteed you will find a scheme.
