I would like to see sisters and brothers on the pedigree.
What about you? Thoughts? Suggestions?

I see what you mean, but It could be a bit problematic with studs with 100+ breedings/children. Also, would it show just siblings with the same two parents or half siblings as well?

Hmmm... I've been thinking and I do support this. I can make a picture of what it would look like if you want. :D

I would love this but I think something like this would be complicated.
Instead of seeing the whole thing, including brothers, sisters and half siblings, there could be a link on the pedigree that takes you to a page where all the siblings are shown.
And maybe there could be another one showing the parents brothers and sisters so you don't breed with uncles and aunties :)

I agree with thebeastkeeper. I like the idea a lot, but I'm wondering how it could be done to not clutter things.
During my breeding projects I sometimes come up with great pairings, then I realize they are siblings or cousins when I get teh inbreeding warning...
I support this!

im sorry, sometimes i just dont think things through. i value your advice greatly guys, and i will take it under advisement to think about what might go wrong with my ideas before i say it.because it could cause cluttering, malfuntions and unhappyness for others. thank you for your advice, thoughts and suggestions and reminding me that things could go wrong.

I think it is a good idea, don't get me wrong. :)
I really like the suggestion of having the siblings appear on another page to de-clutter.

Personally, for me, I wouldn't care for it, as there are work arounds for this -- you can actually view them already with the Childrens on one of the parents', then there is the Premium inbred warning as well. There are other work arounds as well, such as naming them with codes or like how we(humans) name ourselves, with a first and last name.
Though I see where you're coming from, I can't see how it would work, or how it's really needed.

Thank you for your advice, but this conversation is now between me and Nightingale.

^ This is why I support this idea, or something similar. And this is only one part of one tab of this spreadsheet. It would be nice to see all related pets -before- you get to the breeding stage. I worked for ages to make this spreadsheet, and sometimes I find a great pair. Then I find out that they are related when I go to breed them.... It would be nice if we had this, or another way, to at least tell at a glance if the pets were relatives. Makes large projects easier.
@Princesslothie- Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. I try to be a player first and foremost. However, I am always there to help with user issues and keep the peace.
I'd be happy to. I'm almost out of space in my stable though, especially with my breeding project. While I won't be breeding (since I don't have room) feel free to make requests to my Symurghs. :)
Wireath is certainly able to keep posting, it is a public forum after all and I think it is a good idea to keep this conversationg going. It may generate new ideas.

@Nightingale
Hee, I also keep a spread sheet, since when I tried making an online flow chart, they didn't meet up to my expectations, but for me I keep about 4 types of tabs:
1. Line tab, where I code my beasts. Ex. Acive Raptor -- MB-12-1/3 -- trranslate to Name of the pet -- Male 2nd Generation-'serial number'-Parent's #(M/F); thouhg you can already tell, by the name, who the parents are, Gran Raptor and Acivenia,
2. Gene tab, where I keep all my gene information.
3. Gene Comparasion tab: where I compare genes, and analyze what I'll get, then move onto Pedigree.
4. A Pedigree Comparasion tab: where I pretty much copy the code and make something similar to the full pedigree for premium users, of both parents. -- discard if they're related, or just breed them to see what happens.
Though I don't think mine is as extensive as yours', I think I made a google doc back-up for it, so I can link it if you guys want to see, it's pretty old though, as I haven't updated it in awhile.
--------------------------------------------
Anyways, like I said, I'm not too sure how it'd look, but if it's anything like how my flow chart attempt looked, it'd be way cluttered and can be confusing the more you breed -- similar to if you expand the pedigree of a pet with long lines, but more jumbled because pets aren't monogamous. Also, when you click the Children, for me, it already has a long loading time, so I can't say how long it'd take just to load what is being suggested.
These are the reasons as to why I won't support the idea, yet:
1. How would it look? From what I can tell, you pretty much want a full pedigree, inculding half-siblings and their parents, etc, but this would just make it way jumbled and overcplicated, plus you can already click the parent's name then click Childrens to view siblings from both parents.
2. Why do you think we need this / How is this important? Like I said earlier, and others mentioned, there are plenty of work arounds already, that are even on site. Also, the feature would most likely be for Premium users, and they already have the 3/4 generation pedigree as well as the in-breding warning, so how would this suggestion be helpful, rather then time-consuming?
3. Then there is the loading time it would take. If you've used the Childrens button before, after around 5-10ish it starts taking more and more time to load, and if you look at some of the males, they can have anywhere from 50 to 200, or so, children.
Ps. Also speaking about names, maybe an Affix/Prefix might help, though that is pretty much the same as titles.
Edit: Though a brother/sister/relative check might be reasonable -- for example, if you're breeding in the Breeding Offers, and you see one you like, it could check if they have the same parents, and have so sort of symbol, or something to represent that, indicating a yes / no.
PS2. Thanks, though I probably would have anyways, but with a speech at the beginning about business & investors/political system/I forgot.

@Wireath- I'd love to see. I'm curious as to how others manage their projects :) I'd be happy to link you to my actual google doc to (In my Lykos tab of my stable).
I hadn't kept a pedigree tab really.. just parents. I know Liandralithe numbers her generations. But I don't like altering the names.
I haven't done much with generation either. Back when I was big into Wajas I was all over that... I literally print out my spreadsheet and will make notes on it and highlight pairs in the same color.
You have very very valid points... All well thought out and good ones to consider.
To address how it would look:
To be honest, I would be quite happy with a box you could put the pet's ID's in and then a list of related pet ID's and links would appear. I don't even need images. I'd just copy and paste the link to my spreadsheet. I'd love this. Especially if you could sort by pets that you own. It doesn't have to tell me how the pet is related to the others. Just that breeding them together would result in inbreeding.
I guess part of me tends to forget about what premium members can access over non-premium. The inbreeding warning is fantastic. I think that a physical box where you have to enter in a pet's ID and it brings up a list of related pets could be useful and I would lobby for this to be a feature for all users. It involves a bit more manual entry, but it is quite useful and would be a good tool for people to verify lineages. At least there would be something.
Yeah, I almost suggested the titles thing again... but we have titles... It would be nice to have titles that stay inside your stable (or even an icon next to your pets within your own stable, like you suggested).... then you could denote family lines. I'd have no problem simply naming the pets. But it's costly to remove a name. I know this isn't a feature that will change as Angel has stated before "You don't adopt a grown pet with a name, change that name, and expect the pet to respond". Which I guess it makes sense in the real world....

Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CuIP8maBoJHPoqzw6_GGUOg08jEzu5X97-2BgsjNGfk/edit#gid=0 -- Be warned though, it's pretty old, and I haven't touched it, since I don't really like google docs much. Though it's similar to what I'm using (Libre Office), I split it into two files, one for misc stuff and the other into pets and their genes, so I can view both at the same time. As for viewing your's, I could go either way, would be nice to see how you organize your pets and project, but I doubt it would affect how I do things much :P
----------------
Like I said before, you can already look for related pets yourself, it's just tedious, like really tedious. I use to do this before I started using spreadsheets :P, made breeding so much easier, also might be a reason why inbreeding warning and expanded pedigree is so useful -- With the expanded pedigree, you just compare the two pets you have and see if they have any related pets (Grand + Parents), while the inbreeding warning warns you when you do inbred. Would keep buyign Premium, if I could. Anyways, I'm getting off-topic so gonna steer back on it.
From what I can envision from your suggestion, it will be similar to the Premium feature for searching your pets, or how Pet Sales/Breeding Offer is done, I take it? Though instead of searching by genes, names, etc, you're searching lines that can cause inbreeding? Hmm, I'll have to think about this, it might be possible, but it'd lower the value to getting Premium Substriction, as now you have an easier alternative to inbreeding warning, and even Expanded Pedigree viewing, which are one of the main reason why Premium is 'popular', the others that I've read about are returning from explore anywhere and the exhibition scoring.
