What will YOU do?

  • Throw FOOD
  • Throw ROCK
  • Throw SAFARI BALL
  • RUN

So I just found out about this, which is a shame because it's right up my alley. Fantasy species with cool colors and RPG-style management and fighting? Noice.

I'm Zaxal, I go by Zax, I use they/them/their pronouns. :V Think of it like genderless Pokemon. (I mean, I have a gender; it's just very confused and likes to scream at the top of its lungs if you poke it too hard.)

I'm a 24 year old writer who loves fantasy, sci-fi, video games (Sorry for the Pokemon references), cartoons, and musicals.

I own two rescue cats, a lynx-point Siamese named Sonia who never meows, just makes tiny little trills and squeaks to communicate, and an Abyssinian-mix named Simon who we jokingly call Simon Says because he wants food, he wants it now, he will meow the moment someone sets their foot in the kitchen until the moment they step out again. I fell in love with both of them at first sight, and they're kind of my therapy animals.

I'm a pretty friendly person; I don't mind messages! If anyone has some tips for someone in over their heads, I'd love to hear them.

I found out about BK through a thread on Indomita; shoutout to tigereyes27.

ZAX noms the FOOD and EYES the FREE BEASTS with INTEREST.

Oh lordy, a lot of them. I'm super into Hamilton right now! I grew up with VHS tapes of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Sound of Music, and Oklahoma! that were eventually confiscated until I got a TV and VCR put into my room because I wouldn't stop watching them.

I probably hit the bulk of my OMG MUSICALS phase when I was a teenager -- Phantom of the Opera, Jekyll and Hyde, Wicked, Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Little Shop of Horrors, and I know there must be more but I'm drawing a blank past those.

I've seen a few of them live -- Wicked, Jekyll & Hyde, Les Mis, Cats, Urinetown, Little Shop of Horrors, Godspell; most of them (except Wicked, Les Mis, and Cats) were community theatre productions in really small, intimate theatres and honestly it kind of spoiled me because of how much you get drawn into it compared to larger theatres.

NGL this boy is really pretty and I don't have a Lykos yet O:

*FLAILING* Omg one of the swing actors in Hamilton is a friend of mine, I'm so proud of that adorable little squee.  We were in showchoir together in high school.

All of those are so goooooood!  I got to see Wicked on Broadway and again in Peoria when they did the first round of national touring, I saw The Producers on Broadway too (same trip lol)...got to see Phantom when it came through Peoria as well... I performed in community productions of Sound of Music, Beauty & the Beast, Cats, & South Pacific.  I got to watch an In The Round theatre do Les Mis & Urinetown (so freaking trippy to see a fully 3 dimensional show).  I may or may not be a performance dork.  I had to take a few years hiatus though because I developed cysts on my vocal chords so I'm just starting to get back into anything, and I'm starting with voice acting for shorts and audiobooks.

:D  All yours!

Aaah that's awesome!!! I hope you can get back to doing what you love!!

I can sing pretty well for someone who is almost completely untrained, but I have an anxiety disorder, so it's hard for me to perform, and my limited experience has kind of... turned me off on it which is sad bc I love musical theatre so much, with, like, my entire soul (obviously). Maybe someday I'll feel comfortable enough to do it, but IDK. guess I won't know until I try. Any hot tips for someone who's interested and scared? :P

:)  I figure anything is better than nothing lol.

*fistbump*  PTSD & Type 2 Bipolar, so major anxiety is a symptom for both.  I feel ya there.  It blows massively.

Hmm...  Something you may start out with, if you have any community theatres in your area, is to see if they need stage crew.  It's a great way to get into the local crowd, and you're not really performing just yet.  It helps get you comfortable around the sets and the other people who are there regularly.  If you don't, you could always start out doing youtube videos for fun.  Don't have to post em if you don't feel like it :D

Aah, I'm sorry. :( I have general anxiety disorder and dysthymia/persistent depressive disorder. Brainstuff is the worst.

That's a good point O: I hadn't really... thought about stage crew stuff. Lmao, I'm oblivious. Thank you!!

Out of curiosity, do you have any recs on how to get the most out of this site? Like, any stuff that a newbie wouldn't know right away?

Yup.  So hooray for coping strategies & medicine lol.

:D  A good stage crew is unseen and rarely appreciated by the audience, but the director will love you lol.

Well, on the news/front page, there's a thing on the right hand side that says "vote for us", follow the link and those prompts and you'll get extra silver each day :) ... beyond that, I'm still kinda fumbling around myself lol
