- Is this a one-use item?
- Do I have to actively use it, or is it automatic?
- Does it have to sit in my inventory for as long as I want access to the island?

Didnt use mine - gained access to island since it was in my inventory (so should be automatic), doesnt seem to be a one use due to that reason (went to island twice with the same boat so far).
Dont know the answer to last one XD, I d assume it has to
