My pet Broide took a drink from the fountain on tundra level 4 while he still had 8 energy points. The fountain triggered and said that 5 points had been replenished. He still had only 8 points though...
Update: On level 7 it replenished the 2 point just as it said it did. Huh... Hope that means it's fixed now :)

I did reload but the stat did not change. The page of the pet itself did not register the change as well.

Oh, then probably it was some type of server lag.
