Just got a baby back and she's listed as "Active", although she is not able to explore or do anything sale, as she's still in Childhood.
This is the pet in question--not sure if she'll still be a child by the time this is looked at ^^

It's not just you, this has happened with all of my babies as well. I'm unsure if it's intentional or not.

My baby griffen is like this too. This is him. He's been like that since he was born (almost 3 days ago), so as Haberdasher said I'm not sure if this is a glitch

Active status means that pet isn't busy and free for all the actions which are available for this pet (for example, researching genetics). And since there are no actions which are locking the child right now, all children will be active.
