Can you not add a second bid on an auction you have bid on? I can't get an option to place bid.

That shouldn't be a problem at all, so I'm not sure what might be happening for you.
Some extra info might help people help you - a screenshot of the page would be my first thought.
(And of course, clearing your cache - that's one of those things that's always worth a try when things get wonky.)

I've tried clearing my cache and logging out. I'm having trouble with screenshotting, but the screen looks entirely normal, but the "place bid" stays faded out.

Did you have space in your inventory? Did you have the funds? I often bid over myself :)
