When I try to go through the Portal, it says this, even though my pet has the energy to explore. Why can't I go through?

Your explore page will tell you two things:
Located Islands: this one will give you one island to explore every hour, up to 20. If there are none left, you will just have to wait until the time mentioned for a new island to be discovered for you to explore.
Energy Flow Cards: One of the buildings you can construct, the State Portal Service Branch, will allow you to send up to 5 pets a day away (permanently!), in return for 5 cards each. Each card will enable you to explore one new island.

Also, there are some genes/morphs, for specific pets, that allow you to enter once a day, per pet, for free. (Doesn't use the Island/Energy Flow.)

The 2 pets that give a daily free island visit are rocs with watchman and scout morph throdamas that are at least grade 2.
