I just joined, had a look at the premium store, and scooted over to the help page, which told me that it is possible to "find or buy" magical fruit to help increase stats.
While I am carefully optimistic about the sound of that, I'd like to know - is it realistic to count on finding these every now and then, or do they give a significant advantage to people with bigger RL wallets?

Finding Magic Fruit while exploring isn't too uncommon. You can find it in chests, magic stores, guardian temples, and hero cults. If you have an Astrologist and you're looking to search for a specific item setting that item there will help increase its drop rate, making it a little more common to find.

And so you know, if you wanted to buy them from the premium shop it wouldn't necessarily be dependent of your RL wallet. You can get gold in the game. You can get 10 gold for placing in the weekly charts, for example. If you've made a custom skin you get 10 gold every time it gets 10 uses (10, 20, etc up to 100), meaning you could potentially get up to 100 gold that way.
