I know that it said something about it in the tutorial, but I wasn't paying much attention...Is there a ratio from real time to game time?  Kind of a ridiculous question..

It all depends on where you live in tithe world, for some people it's ahead and for some it's behind.  But where it plays a role is that your pets get fed at 00:00.  Plus if you look at the news, if there e is an event it will tell you when it ends.  Plus 00:00 Sunday is when the new week begins. When the new week begins, the weekly charts change, the week in capturing pets change and some other things.
