I would take site currency, but until the economy stabilizes, I don't know what to charge. Normally I do double the donation currency to USD rate. For example, if Gold Coins were 1 USD each, I would charge 50 gold coins for a portrait like that above, and then use that number to convert into a silver coin price if necessary.

Does Beast Keeper even have a user to user currency exchange working yet? Or even a user to user item exchange?

Not yet, but they will. And they have a user to user item exchange module.
