I am wondering if there could possibly be a glitch in how the "Feathered Storm" exhibition is calculating points for children?

05:37 yesterday my participating pets had a total of 21 children and together they had 62 points for those children (before bonuses). Since then, my participating pets have had 11 more children born, but the points for children have only gone up by 6 points to a total of 68 points (before bonus). And that increase came after the first 3 of those 11 new children.....the points did not go up at all after the last 8 children.

Also,  I compared my score to some others who also have 5 related pets submitted and only have children and arena wins (no tactic wins) I do not seem to have as many points as them relative to the number of children/arena wins/gender bonuses. Maybe I misunderstood and only certain types of children are counted or maybe they don't count as soon as they are born but only once grown up? Or maybe the points for children only updates once per day?

All children are taken into account, and points are refreshed each time when you click "Refresh" button. Please check "How are points and position calculated" link on the exhibition page.

Base points are calculated as percent value from the highest parameter among the applied pets. You can get up to 100 points for each parameter and a total of 300 base points per pet.
For example, the highest number of tactic wins is 200, and your pet has 10 wins. 200 wins is taken as a base and scores 100 points. Your pet will get (10 / 200 * 100) = 5 points.

This means that scoring system is dynamic and all of the pets devalue when someone applies a pet with better value than current top one, or when the current top pet improves its values. The better the current top pet, the less points you get for your pets for the same exhibition parameters.

My entered pets had more children born again this morning (PST) and again no points registered at first, but 1.5 hours later the points showed up.

Refreshing my position instantly refreshes points for arena wins, but not for children for me. Maybe it is something specific to my computer.

We've made an extensive testing and didn't find any problems with updating children score immediately. If you saw an update after more than hour (like a few hours or even 1.5 hour), I can suppose that during this time someone changed the top "children value" pet in favor to another one who has less children points but gives more significant point increase due to larger numbers of arena and tactic wins.

Please also remember that points are calculated separately for every pet. 8 children for 1 pet isn't the same with 2 children for every pet in a roster, and females have 5 times more point weight for every child than males. 2 children for a male pet won't score even 1 point with the current top male in the exhibition.

I still feel like "something" is wrong, though I am not sure what: Since my last post, my entered pets have had 16 more children, but my base score for children has not changed at all (not even temporarily just after the birth of the children). This was 15 new children to male entered pets and 1 to a female entered pet.

Those points are added the moment that you breed the pets, not when the hatchlings are born. So it's normal that the points don't increase after the birth.

But yeah, the exhibition points can be tricky to figure out. For instance, I caused my points to drop by getting more arena wins. Because I was battling with the roc that has most wins, which made the arena victories scale so that they're worth less points. So while my top roc got a few more points, my other rocs lost several.

OMG that is it!!!! I was looking for the increase in points after the children were born, not when the parent was bred! Thank you soooo much for explaining Zaltys, because it was really driving me completely bonkers to not understand what was going on!!!!
