Hi, I recently joined this website and am trying to learn the ropes. However, I don't know everything yet, which I guess is expected from a new player.

I've been trying to figure out how to earn coins other than sending my pets to the islands to get supplies and occasional coins. (Which isn't a terribly reliable method, as most coin piles only hold 8 or so coins and I don't know how much the ores and such are).

I see that a lot of people sell pets they have or have bred on the pet market but since I don't know the rarity of any of my pets' colors I don't know if this is a good option for a new player. The same thing goes for the item market, although searching for the item and seeing what the average price is seems to be easier there.

Do any of you seasoned players have any advice for a newbie? I'm not trying to get rich quick, but I want to be able to have a steady income.

If you have the required pets, quests are a good way to get silver. This thread http://beastkeeper.com/thread/1363 is for borrowing pets for quests if you don't have the right one.

Also it's best to explore islands with high level pets because the islands are bigger and coin piles more lucrative.

I'd hold off breeding and selling pets until you get better pets and a higher level stable. The value of a pet's color depends on gene rarity and dominance, additionally some colors are more valuable because they are required for quests.
