When ever I go exploring with any of my pets it says I can leave when I'm not at the portal tile. I don't have premium membership ether. I also am playimg on goodle chrome.

You do have Premium. For the first 2 weeks after signing up with the game, you get free Premium to see how it is. You can also see that you have Premium, since your name appears in purple. If it's orange, then you don't have Premium.
Another way to check is to go to My Account and check what it says there at the top in the first box.
