Hi all! :D I found this site while looking for petsite recs and I was immediately sold when I saw that gryphons are on this site (and later found out about rocs and cockatrices!). While I'm not certain what direction I'll head in this game, I'll definitely aim to exclusively collect the aforementioned species along with symurghs because birds of all shapes and sizes are my absolute favorite animals.

I poked around the game since I joined yesterday, but I figured that browsing the forums more will help me learn some tips and tricks to playing the game. I do have one question, though: should I sell off the items I get on explorations to build up a sum of silver to get me on my feet, or should I save my materials knowing that they'll be useful for new buildings that'll give buffs in the long term?

Anyhow, I hope to have a great time here!

Blooooodddd. :P

Welcome to BK! I hope you like it here. If you have any questions feel free to message me. I don't bite (despite my vampric desire for new blood in the memberbase).

Hmm, good questions. Everyone has a different style. I personally recommend building what you can. Especially when it comes to upgrading your stable and warehouse. And lots of golems- because they act like mines and produce materials every day. In the end you can really make a profit from 'em.

I hoarded my items so I could build- now that I have more space in my stable and warehouse I am able to house more items and pets- which means I can now sell more!

When you are beginning the game I would recommend to build build build (especially if it fits with your playing style). Some items that you don't feel like you are going to use then sell them! I never use certain invites, so I just sell them or pass them along to friends that I know do.

Remember you can stack your blueprints for buildings. By doing this you can lessen the silver cost to build them.

Selling Vermillion always turns a pretty profit too.

Haha sorry for a scatterbrained post, my cat is bothering me. Loki says "Hi"!

Thank you for the advice! :D After a few days I managed to gather enough wood for a Riding Hall, so hopefully in due time I'll have some trained up pets to make it easier to gather even more materials. *_* (I can now see how much of a hot commodity wood can be, haha!)

HI Loki! :D

Congrats! Yeah. I find I struggle with keeping enough clay to suit my needs.... :P

But riding halls are awesome for training! Especially if you don't have time to battle!

Hey all I'm new too! A couple days in now!
I'm not sure if I have enough to buy any buildings yet.. but I'm getting pretty stoked about some of the species! I just picked up a Throdama from the pound (lucky catch?) and I think I want to breed them as well as Rocs and perhaps Gryphons :D yayy

Thanks for the tips on this board, really helpful - still gathering my bearings over here!

Hi, welcome! I definitely agree with Nightingale in that building should be one of your priorities - especially your stable and warehouse, which may seem large in the beginning but quickly become tiny! The State Portal Service Branch is also a good one once you build up a number of pets and begin breeding regularly, as it will allow you to get rid of your failed breeding outcomes (which otherwise take up space) and get more expore turns (which means more items!). The Inn is also very useful as you can use invites to bring in people that help with various aspects of the site, and sometimes these people come and stay at your inn without an invite too. I aso find the Astrologist very useful as it allows you to find more of a chosen item while exploring (mine is always set to vermillion because I breed a lot, but it would also be good early on for getting more building materials).

Apart from building I would recommended levelling up your pets asap - arena is the quickest way but through explore you also get items. The main reason for this is that the higher your pet's level is, the bigger the island is in explore and therefore you can find more items. Another reason is that you need pets with certain minimum stats to build and levelling will increase your pet's stats. Finding higher levelled pets in the pound will also help you along. Things may seem a little slow and difficult in the beginning but it gets much easier as you get more, and better, pets. I would recommended buying some decent gened pets when possible. Those with dominant regeneration are very good for exploring with as they are less likely to lose and are fairly easy to get, counterstrike is a good common gene combo - it requires dominant quickmind and agile paws - as are the elemental strikes, available on dragons, rocs and cockatrices, though they are much harder to get.
