I got this item from the tutorial and am not sure how to use it. How do I use it to catch pets?

While you have it in your inventory you can click on Pets -> Capture Wild Pets and will automatically have a Magic Catcher available in your list of catchers to the right of the map.
You can simply select this Magic Catcher to a spot on your map and once he manages to catch a pet, the Magic Bomb will be used up.
