Hey there! While I'm still new to the site I've already noticed something that makes it a little harder for me to keep track of things here...

That being Auctions.

What is so hard about keeping track of things in the Auctions? Well first of all, I noticed that if I check the two notification options for being out bidded and for auction ended I get emails instead of getting in-game notifications... When I checked those boxes I thought I'd be getting in-game notices..

It doesn't make any sense to me to have notices emailed (espically if the email ends up in the junk mail!), what makes sense is having a notification pop up on the site itself.. Whether it be in the PMs or some sort of event message that shows up at the top of the screen.. because lets face it, how often does someone check emails for that kind of thing?

I think it would be easier for the players if it was on the website as well as if other notifications.

I don't know if this has been suggested yet but I didn't see it in the accepted or refused forums... and hunting through 12 pages of suggestions isn't happening either :P

I never check that e-mail so this would be super helpful when trying to keep track of auctions.

That's a good idea, although email works better for me because I find it too easy to overlook the new message notifications. (I really wish it changed color if there are unread messages.)

@Gryphonfire  I used to have a problem with remembering to check my email too. Now I just have a tab permanently open to my inbox and it really helps.

It is a junk email that i use only for validates game sites and the like. I check my important email at least once a day. I would prefer an alert on the site rather then having to out to an offsite just to find out if i was outbid or something as little as that. It would be a little thing in the corner next to messages or something with a little bell icon that turns yellow or such when you have an unread alert.

This feature already exists. If you want to stop receiving auction emails, uncheck Auction notification in your Preferences.

I was aware of the preferences, which is great, but i was agreeing with the suggestion about in-game alerts for auctions, critter births, newly captured critters and stuff like that.

Angle, what I was suggesting was actually getting alerts on the site itself for things like auctions and as Gryphonefire has now said, other important events that happen on the site.

sd-dreamcrystal, notification system works a bit different, it's not email or in-game only. It puts the message in your game inbox if you're online and sends to your email if you're offline. It's designed to notify the user as fast as possible and it was built like this in the close collaboration with users on beta test. If you don't need instant notifications, just disable them in your preferences and use My Bids page to track your current bids.

Gryphonfire, inbox is intended for communication with other users and notifications that require instant player's actions. Flooding it with regular notcies like birth and catcher reports will make it unusable due to the enourmous number of messages. Please use Reports tab to track such events.
