hello everyone, how long would someone have to be in the top ten weekly charts to gain gold coins.

The charts are weekly and the results are taken at the end. So at the end of every week (Sunday) you would need to have placed to get the coins. :)

From the FAQ:
You can purchase Gold Coins here. Also you're able to earn Gold Coins by:
- Taking a position among Top 10 players in the Weekly Charts
- Inviting your friends to play BeastKeeper. You will get 10 for every referral who has completed the tutorial. You can find your referral link atMy Account tab.
- Uploading custom skins and sharing them (10 for each 10 uses, maximum reward is 100). Selling your custom skins uses for Gold Coins.
- Helping us to improve the game by posting bugs (bug tracking forum thread is here)
