Laboratory (lvl 3)

Gives you the option to research all dominant genes of a pet. Additionally, if there is a geneticist in your inn, once a day you have the ability to target mutagen's affect on a specific gene locus of a single pet.

(Until or unless you are interested in breeding, researching the recessive genes is a waste of resourses. Also by treating the targeted mutation like the sanctuary it becomes impractical to just create a designer pet from scratch because that would require almost three weeks even if every mutation resulted in the desired gene.)

Portal/State Portal Service Branch (lvl 2)

Eliminates or reduces the chance of your pet encountering an unusable building.

(Buildings that could be eliminated are: chancellry/scriptorium if you don't have any invites/recipes, genetic research if pet is fully researched, experience if pet is level 50, cult if pet isn't GP and the new fertility shrines if the pet isn't breedable anymore. It would still be random if the GP pet had a high enough GP for the cult.

If just the building upgrade is needed then it should be the portal that gets upgraded, but a more interesting way would be to upgrade the portal for a low initial effect. After that you would be able to upgrade the SPSB so that, each day besides the five pets for energy flow cards, you'd also have the ability to send a certain number of pets to increase the effect until the maximum pets sent would result in the elimination of unusable buildings appearing.)

I'd like having the dominant genere research choice, but it wouldn't be very good for the game. It pretty much defeats the point of a geneticist invite, and if you add the feature (being able to target the mutagen's affect), mutagens would become to useful and throw off balance in the game. It's an item made for a gamble, not to make everything super easy for us.

As for the SPSB suggestion, its an interesting idea.
