Hello,

On the tactic map, 80% of the time I get wood, although I am in much more need for topazes, rubies, emeralds and basically everything else! to the best of my knowledge, I don't have any schemes or blueprints that require lots of wood and I'm just wondering how I can get other things on the tactic map. 

Any advice or help will be appreciated

Tactic map doesn't give any resources except vermilion and silver.

If you mean solo island explore instead, then resources like wood, stone and clay are the most common and massively required for construction of the majority of buildings. Gems are the rarest resources, you need to visit a lot of islands to gather a set for an event outfit. Building Astrologist may help you to find a target resource.
