I am aware that in item trades there are still Essenses of, Pestilence, death, ect. What happens If I buy one? Will I get the horse? Or no.. I was so close to getting them. I put atleast 30,000 coins into it and did not get any.

The event has now closed, so Kami are no longer obtainable. I would not advise that you purchase and Essenses or other Kami event related items- I am not sure what the use of these items will be now. Maybe Angel will shed some light on it soon...

Event items do not have any specific purpose after the event finish. Maybe some players would like to keep them as collectables, so they were not removed from the game though they have no real value.
