When checking animal's genealogy, clicking on those currently in the Pound, or at the Portal Service, makes this message appear:

Oops - The Following Errors Occured

Invalid pet specified.

I suggest some clearer statement, such as "This pet resides in the Pound", because the original message above does make it sound like a game error or a bug.

Another suggestion is moving the Inbreeding Warning from the Premium subscription to the Basic one. Premium users are already able to see the animal's genealogy three generations back. This, with the knowledge of the names and IDs in the full genealogy, makes the likeness of accidental inbreeding virtually non-existent. Normal users can only see the animal's parents, and even with the Inbreeding Warning, will not be always able to avoid inbreeding, because not all animals can be checked back step by step, if they are, for example, in the Pound, or at the Portal Service.

Another suggestion is the forum search feature. With this in place, forum will not be cluttered by multiple threads, regarding the same subject and all the information in the forums will be more readily available to the readers.

Support on first and third suggestion.

Sort of neutral yes/no on second. The premium upgraded account costs 50 gold coins in the store for one month, that's about 5 USD if converted to real money. If the premium doesn't have that many nice perks, people won't buy it.

Hey everyone!

The premium subscription already has decent incentives. The main reason for the second suggestion is that the full genealogy already provides enough information needed to avoid any inbreeding and having an inbreeding warning message/dialog showing is entirely unnecessary.

Concerning the fist part, this message tells the user that this pet is not available or do not exist. It is an an error but an error that tells the player that he is doing something wrong. It appears in a number of cases including non-existent pet IDs, pets in pound, reserve, portal service, tutorial pets, pets that aren't born yet, belong to system users etc. It's very hard to implement this change all over the site, and in many places this is really invalid pet id and nothing else. The only place where pound/portal messages can be easily added is pet profile page (direct link like http://beastkeeper.com/pet/pet_id). It will be updated there soon.

Concerning the second part, you're not right when saying that the likeness of accidental inbreeding is virtually non-existent. Please check this suggestion about inbreeding warning. This feature was added upon request in this thread. Players suggested it while having access to full genealogy because sometimes they got babies with degeneration even with the full info on one page. In the game reality, this perk gives you the access to the state registry herd-books and clerk checks for you if the pets are relatives or not. But he doesn't have a right to give out the information about literally any pet on Europa to a someone off the street. He wants to see your credentials.

My statement about an accidental inbreeding being highly unlikely comes from understanding, that all the information needed is already available and those accidents, should they be termed as such, are not due to the game being difficult, but due to users, not being careful enough and not doing their research properly, exactly as the aforementioned thread clearly shows. The message of a large majority of posts in that thread is along the lines of users, being careless or tired and not checking the lineages properly. The pedigree page is there for a reason, and is to be consulted, before any breeding proceeds. I am certain, therefore, that any inbreeding can be avoided, if one is careful and watchful enough.

In a conclusion:

Surely, there is nothing wrong in attempting to make the game easier and more enjoyable for the players. Nevertheless, the game cannot be blamed for any accident, happening on account of users not paying attention to the game.
