What does that mean when it is on the pet? Where are they? What are they doing?

I'm a little confused....
Do you mean when it says "exploring island" under the pets name? If this shows then you never exited the portal (or lost a battle) and therefore never left the island.
Other than that explanation I'm a little confused, more details? A screenshot maybe?

No problem! I figured that is what it was. I do that all the time and wonder why they are busy... Gotta love having multiple tabs. :)
