Actually there were 2 new golems added last night - Honey and Amethyst, so no Hiatus.
I missed Angel's post, I just stumbled on a Honey golem scheme while exploring. She did post here though: http://beastkeeper.com/thread/2461/2

We're working on a big update (the last one before release version) which will add some high-level content and will become a gate for the new species. A lot of work is done already but there's still a lot to do. We apologize for giving up the small weekly updates right now, but be sure that we're still working on the game and putting all the efforts to finish the new game layer as soon as possible.
