This has happened to me before, once, and then once again, but that time there as two chests behind the second monster.  I didn't have a magician in my inn both those times, so couldn't really take screenies, but here:

it just doesn't seem fair ;-;

actually in that pcture, there are still 2 chests there, you ll need to pick chest, make step back and move again to where chest was. Then you ll have to refresh page cause it lags when chests overlap like that >.>

I've had it often enough, so I am 100% sure about that

Ah, I see.  That's ok then, for a second I thought the monsters were being sneaky...and slightly lazy maybe?

That happened to me before! Luckily, its pretty rare. More often than not, there are chest for each one. Rarely do I have to  fight 2 of them with only one treasure chest. The only thing upside about this is fact that 2nd one is usually lower level than first one.

Well, I think it was a bug, and it was fixed in the last update D: It doesn't work for me anymore.

Hey everyone!

It wasnt really a bug. The way I understand it it's another map generation problem. Like when they had chests stuck in buildings and buildings generated behind monsters.

There should always be a chest behind a monster and in this case they overlapped, so fixing it in such a way that there is only 1 chest behind 2 rows of monsters wouldnt be fair.

Well, going over the space twice doesn't give me anything, and searching areas where the chest should have spawned doesn't work, either.

Hey everyone!

Just tried it, nothing, there was a strip of land behind the first monster where the chest could have been,  but wasn't, as well.

There are a lot of double-bosses with only one chest showing up for me, so this can't be a rare happening. I've tried going over the chest spot more than once, but didn't get anything more, either. Most of the time, for me, there will be one square of water between the two bosses, the chest area being connected to both bosses, and the chest will be on the land behind them both. Only one chest, every time, without fail, never two. So you're not alone at all =\
