I just noticed this while looking at my Beserker dragon:

http://beastkeeper.com/pet/45417

Her Berserker gene is now 'ancient', which means she can't pass it down anymore? Is it guranteed that she will pass down the other gene then? Are there any other genes that are considered ancient now? It's a pity that I can breed anymore Berserker dragons now cause I really like Beserker. :/

I just read the pop-up box for that.  Looks like it can be passed down, but only if the parent has it for the dominant and recessive , both.  I couldn't tell if it would work with each parent having one copy, though.  The description wasn't clear enough for that.

I'm hoping it can be passed on, I hadn't managed to breed a berserker yet. When I tried tonight's breeding there wasn't an ancient before I chose the sire but their was afterwards. I'm slightly worried now...

I really hope the 'two-parent' rule is still valid, otherwise my entire breeding project gets blown out of the water ; _ ;

Although only male pets' genes seem to have been 'ancientified'; females remain perfectly normal despite only having one recessive Berserker.

@Edit: scratch that, turns out it doesn't depend on gender. Upon further inspection, Breeding Offers is teeming with nonancient and ancient studs alike. Does anybody know if there's some pattern behind this?

Same here :/ I'm doing my very best though to keep the Berserker gene in Dragons. I currently have two dragons with Berserker in both dominant and recessive traits so I HOPE it will work out breeding them with dragons with only a recessive Berserker or only a dominant Berserker :/.

@ Viriagan: I checked the site and there is only one single dragon left now that fits into the breeding project 100% (it having both Berserker and Boiling blood in both dominant and recessive traits) and I already PM'ed the owner so I hope we can keep them alive.

Contributing to my earlier question, here are some examples:

http://beastkeeper.com/lot/2/23789/

but

http://beastkeeper.com/lot/2/12348/

Both are fairly normal drags with recessive Berserker. Only one is Ancient. I'm trying to figure out a logic and have only drawn blanks so far.

@MORE EDITS: Shame on me for not noticing this topic sooner - http://beastkeeper.com/thread/2304/1#15077 @_@; Doesn't explain the irregularity, but sheds light on everything nevertheless.

(AKA we basically have a glitch dragon dynasty xD)

@THE EDITING CONTINUES: Reimira, Boiling Blood shouldn't be a problem as it was intended for dragons for the very start (as stated in the thread I linked to). You'll just have to be more strict with Berserkers. D:

the one with ancient gene was bred, the one without ancient is not bred. Thats probably the reason. Hmm not the one at the top of topic doesnt seem to have it though.

@LiaEvalle: But mine don't fit into your theory either :/ I have my Loving Insanity who is a wild and my Adoring Madness who is a bred pet and both have Berserker (ancient) recessives.

i guess this means that http://beastkeeper.com/pet/51680 is now a rarity......tho i thought it was a male when i named her.......lol....also i find it interesting that the dominant gene says ancient, but the recessive one doesn't

All Berserker genes for Dragons are now ancient, they do not divide into ancient and normal ones. Berserker isn't a Dragon gene at all, it duplicates their Boiling Blood which acts exactly the same. They got it by mistake instead of Pumas, we're extremely sorry for this. The specific Dragon brain gene is Fearsome look. Please read this topic.

Concerning the effectiveness of these genes, please check current weekly battle top 20: there are 4 dragons and 2 of them have Fearsome look, but there are no Berserkers.

If any of the players would like to replace the ancient Berserker gene to the actual Dragon Fearsome look gene, please post here the links to pets which should be changed.

Done

A lot of my dragons have Fearsome Look and Beserker (Ancient), and some of them have 2x Beserker (Ancient) in them, does these mean, they can be converted to Fearsome Look (and possibly 2x Fearsome Look, for some of them)...? Which would be "correcting" their genes...?

(Heh-heh, and to think, I had been breeding specifically for Beserker-Beserker...)

If so:

Beserker (Ancient)-Beserker (Ancient) genes need to be turned to Fearsome Look-Fearsome Look in these dragons:

  1. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/35619
  2. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/44945

Recessive or singular Beserker (Ancient) genes need to be corrected in these dragons (some of which also already have Fearsome Look dominant/recessives):

  2. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/48099
  3. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/48100
  4. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/49429
  5. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/27497
  6. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/26266
  7. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/43625
  8. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/44944
  9. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/43624
  10. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/26123
  11. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/49430
  12. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/51518
  13. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/50795

Thankyou for your time. Hmm, there is quite a lot of them.

Can we 'correct' the genes even if they're only recessive? If so, I'd be very grateful if you could zap this guy here;
