Should the beast temple be taking away 1 point of energy as well as kicking you out of the map? Surely it should only do one or the other, since both seems unfair.

I dunno... if it's kicking you out of the map anyways it seems like taking the 1 energy away would just prevent you from exploring again.
I think one or the other should suffice.

I wondered about this too...it seems a bit odd that it does both..and if you lose to the beast you don't get a chance to use a bandage either.

It's not a bug. Battle loss is still a battle loss, it takes 1 energy point in any case.

So basically it's not worth fighting them unless you have no energy to lose then
