I slowly walked through the woods, wary of my surroundings. The vast forest was covered in a thick layer of smog. Me and my partner, a stranger,  were searching through the woods, hoping to find a rare creature called the lykos. The lykos almost looked like a wolf, except it was about double the size, and they have spikes coming out of the back of their head. But the lykos we were looking for was the rarest of them all. This lykos was jet black, with blue stripe on its back, and with eerie yellow eyes. But then, something lept out of the bushes! I instantly fell back, terrified, and my partner ran off into the woods.  But slowly, I got up and looked at the creature.There she was, the rare lykos. I slowly began approaching her, watching in awe. But then, we remembered her story. She must choose you, for if you attempt to ride her without being chosen, you will be cursed for all eternity. I stood in front of her, still as a stone. She circled around me a few times, and then she crouched down next to a large tree trunk, and motioned at her back, almost as if she was asking me to get on. I quickly climbed up the tree trunk, shaking. Then, I lept onto her back. As soon as I got one her back, I wrapped my legs around her barrel, and I tangled my fingers into her thick fur, and I spurred her off towards my barn. Then, I named her Malkia wa Giza, which means Queen of Darkness.
I rode her back to my stable, and then I dismounted. I slowly walked towards the stall that I had prepared for her, noticing the gaping faces beside me. She stopped short right in front of her stall, eyes wide.

“It's okay, Gi.” I said, using her nickname, and I gently coaxed her into the stall. Tomorrow, we were going to go out and show everyone her.

I woke up, quickly getting dressed. Today was a big day. Today, I was going to show Gi to the public. I had 0 idea how they would react. I mean, I dont think a lot of people have seen a lykos. You see, I live in a very small town. My town has a single food store, and we rely on crops grown here and food hunted. And there has been a shortage of meat here. So if they could find the huge lykos, that could feed the town for weeks. And I, a young 23 year old girl, who was supposed to be stuck in the house doing chores for the husband and the family, was now finding a legendary lykos, and trying to save it. I was most scared of what the council would say. The council is made up of 8 men and 2 women. These people are in charge of our community, and they can do anything they want to, including send a person away. If I did not get their approval, I could be sent away and the lykos taken into captivity…or worse. I quickly got to the barn, to see Gi laying, buried in her shavings. I got her up and brushed her off, then rode her to town. 

As she began walking into town, all eyes were directed towards us. I saw older women looking at me in a mixture of amazement and disapproval. I saw little girls looking at me in awe. And I saw a multitude of men of all ages looking at me in disgust.

Finally, it was time for the council. I nervously approached the huge dark oak building, nervous. I hopped off Gi, gave the reins to one of my helpers, and entered the building. 

I was immediately escorted to the council, and I was sweating bullets. 

over an hour later, i was finally done. but the outcome wasn't good. o had been sentenced to banishment for 5 months. Now, a group of men escorted me and Gi home to pack, and then we were kicked out. As I stood just outside of the wall, I was still in shock. I mean, I was just banished. But then, I decided I would explore. I had just started walking, then I heard rustling in the bushes beside me. Then a streak of gold and teal sped past me. I opened my mouth to scream, but a scally hand clasped over my mouth. 

“Hey, shush, there’s nothing to fear.”

I clamped my mouth shut, and turned, ready for the worst. Instead, I saw scally blue and green dargon looking thing. It was a little taller than me, had a tail, stood on two legs, and seemed to be a girl. 

“Hi there, she said. I'm seawing, but you can call me sea.” a golden colored lykos stepped out from behind her, the only other lykos i had ever seen. “Oh, this is cookie dough, my lykos. And who are you?” I stood next to Gi, who was curiously looking at Cookie Dough. I started opening my mouth to talk, but was cut off by the sea. “Ya know what, i'm gonna call you Almond,” she stated, gesturing at my light brown hair, “and the lykos Blueberry.”  Blueberry, I thought. I think that's what I'm gonna call her now.

The lizard-dragon thing, Sea, led me through the woods, telling me there was something to see. Finally, we approached a huge wall, and I was led through by Sea and Cookie Dough. “Finally! We’re here!” Sea said, and she gazed across the terrain. I stared, amazed. It was a huge civilization, with all sorts of creatures everywhere. I turn, seeing a group of women riding unicorns approaching us. But one led them all. It was a female, with fiery streaks riding a smyrugh. “Hello. I am Phoenix. Welcome to Ziren, the land of women. We are all females who have been banished from our tribe.” I stared, awestruck. Phoenix began speaking. “Sea, who is this?” Sea hopped off of Cookie Dough. “Her name is Almond, and that’s her Lykos.” Phoenix’s eyes widened as she noticed Blueberry, and they all dismounted from their ride. They bowed their heads, forming a circle with their hands and raising it. “Oh great one,” the said, bowed. “What have we done to deserve your honor?” I stood, confused. “What?” I asked, and Pheonix slowly stood up. “Legend says that the one who catches the Lykos of Dreams is Prophesied to lead the nation.” I stood, amazed. What now?
