Is extracting deviance only for the purpose of reverting a pet back to normal colors, or can you use the product created in some fashion?

Thank you very much. I also discovered it's useful in hatching wild lykos eggs but was dissapointed that you can't inject another pet with it to improve deviance drop odds.
