Sky tripped on her paws running over to her best friends. She was a tall, graceful Symurgh with sky-blue fur, turquoise-blue feathers, and deep colbalt-blue eyes.
The first one Sky saw was Violet. The Symurgh had large, deep violet wings and a wisteria-colored fur coat. Violet had deep green eyes, too.
Then Canyon flew out to visit them. He had clay-colored feathers and wings, with sepia-colored fur. He, too had large blue eyes.
"Nice to see you all!" said Sky, letting a ladybug crawl up her left paw.
Violet sniggered, "Wouldn't be nice if you remembered what today was."
Sky shook her fur. The large pine above had rained down tons of needles that itched her coat. After she shook, Sky saw the ladybug flying away. "What's today?" she inquired.
Canyon tried spitting out a needle and nearly choked on it. "The ceremony, of course. You are turning ten today."
Whenever a princess turned ten, there was a boring ceremony with a grumpy old Symurgh with molting feathers and usually an annoying personality. EVERYONE would be there.
"Unfortunatly," Violet said, "Your mom booked the most grumpiest, oldest Symurgh with the moltiest feathers and the most annoying personality."
Suddenly they heard a howl. They ran.
