Two of my pets have been exploring the island for days, and the other for over 2 weeks. I don't know how to fix it. please help.

Take them back to the white gateway on the map. The portal icon next to the map will light up. Click on it.
Voila!
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

As long as you didnt disable the notification of "Are you sure you want to leave this island?" then you should be able to go over the portal u entered from and leave :)
