Okay... I need some advice.... I think...

As far as I knew capturing wild pets meant you explored with the correct capturer a few times where you spot the critter... But I have a cycle of pets in the same spot: cockatrice, roc, gryphon... How do I know which capturer to put there if the pets keep changing...

And the pets don't seem to be "battling" each other....

Here is a copy of my log. I haven't really seen any creatuers anywhere since... Can someone explain to me what I'm doing wrong?

Keep an eye on them, and watch them for several turns and you can predict them.

For example, on your latest report, that Roc flew from the Big Field to the Creek. The big field is a hunting ground, and the creek a watering hole, so it won't move to either of those types of places next turn, so it will go back to it's den.

Assuming if that is the same Roc in the report below that one, the Roc will next go back to the Cave, because each pet corresponds to a specific den, and will return to that den and that den only.

I posted these findings, and others in the Catchers and Expeditions thread in the General Chat forum.

Edit: On looking through your logs more thouroughly, there are in fact two Rocs in the wild, so it's entrely possible that the Roc in the top log and the one below it are two seperate pets, so the above may not be accurate.

This is how I figured that out. Notice how on the earlier of these two logs the Roc flew to the East Fields, but then on the one directly after, a Roc flew from the Cave, so they must be two seperate pets.

So there are two of them... do same species "battle it out" at the watering hole?

Most areas can only hold one pet, but I believe that the Big Field and Waterfall can hold two. I believe Angel confirmed this somewhere.

But pets will always battle it out if there aren't room for all of them at the same spot.

The next week starts in three minutes... I'm going to stick observers all over, but I want to put a bird-catcher at the creek... But I'm debating whether an observer is more important right now...

No, the unicorn is already at Magic Glade (a den), so it will go to a water place next. I would place your catcher at waterfall or creek.

What I do when I see multible different species on the map is use a magic catcher. xD

They can still fail you, but at least they don't care what species they come across.

Ohh Seph! That is a great idea. Are their capture rates about the same?

They have a normal catch rate for every species. xD

So they have the same chance of catching a unicorn like a mammal catcher or the same chance to catch a dragon like a reptile cathcer solely depending on what pet they come across.

That's maybe why the bombs are expensive. xP

I think I'll have to do that. Bombs though.... I may just go there...
