I had a white etelia that i breed at an island for two pristine snowflakes. Out of the two i got two blue etelias. Is that normal for them to regress back to stage one because it seems weird to lose all the progress of breeding it up through the colors.

Yeah... unfortunately. Just means you gotta work your way all the way back up again. personally I dont breed etelia because they dont seem that strong, and the percentage of getting one of the nicer colors is pretty small.
