I've been playing for about...a week or so now maybe and I have a few questions, mainly because I've read so much I think I kinda muddied it all together in my brain. xD

Any help you can provide would be greately appreciated, even if you're poking me back in the right direction to a guide where it's listed. I think I may have read them all once at this point. lol.

2. Is there any point in breeding pets before they reach level 50? Is it a thing to just breed lower level pets and send to the pound for the 500s and then to the portal for extra cards?

Ok, the * means the pet has deviance. It can be pattern or colour deviancy.

I recommend finding pets with good genes, then they're easy to level up on Arena. Especially when they have elemental attacks, and stuff like gracefulness and steel bones - the sky's the limit.

Once they're at level 50, breed to other level 50s with similar genes, so you don't lose the genetic boost. Once you've got to GP 3 you can carry on breeding for better and better genes until you get perfects.

So does that mean you can have a Normal/Normal Deviance, since that seems to be what happened?

Yup, normal deviance is a thing. And as you probably already noticed they just look like normal, non-devinat pets. You can check out all the different deviant colors/patterns in the Skin library. https://beastkeeper.com/skin-lib
